E Emulsion type of shock absorber.
D De Carbon type of shock absorber with internal reservoir in the main body.
H De Carbon type of shock absorber with hose mounted external reservoir.
P De Carbon type of shock absorber with external piggyback reservoir.
W Shock absorber delivered without spring.

Öhlins 36DW   Öhlins 36D   Öhlins 36P/PW
  • Based on Öhlins successful application of the de Carbon concept.
• Improved cooling gives more consistent damping and longer damper life.
• Reservoir with dividing piston built into the main body.
• Used in rear suspensions with separate springs and when space is too limited for type 36H or 36P. 		    • A version of 36DW with coil-over spring.
• Reservoir with dividing piston built into the main body.
• Spring preload adjustable with C-spanners.
• Used when space is too limited for type 36H or 36P. 		    • Öhlins original trend setting "piggy back" with external reservoir.
• Based on Öhlins successful application of the de Carbon concept.
• Dividing piston in the external reservoir.
• Used both front and rear, with or without spring.
Öhlins 36PC/PCW   Öhlins 36H/36HW   Öhlins 46PRC 
  • Öhlins "piggy back" with adjustable compression damping.
• A few clicks on the wheel and you alter the setting for a passenger or extra luggage.
• Perfect both front and rear.
• Used with and without spring. 		    • A version of 36P with hose mounted reservoir.
• Dividing piston in the external reservoir.
• Spring preload adjustable with C-spanners.
• Used when space is too limited for type 36P or 36PC. 		    • Fully adjustable version of the Öhlins "piggy back".
• External reservoir improves cooling, gives more consistent damping and longer damper life.
• Replaces the two rear shocks on the Polaris Indy 500 EFI and is a favorite of the race riders.

  • Emulsion shock absorber (oil and gas mixed in the shock body).
• Only manufactured for a few snowmobile models.
• Replaces the original front struts. 		    • De Carbon front strut.
• Reservoir with dividing piston built into the main body.
• Manufactured for a few Yamaha models.
• The spring is mounted on the strut using the original parts. 		    • De Carbon type with
• Reservoir with floating piston built into the main body.
• Used when space is too limited for a type 46PRC.
• Used fore racing on the Yamaha V Max.
